Unveiled at the 2015 North American International Auto Show, the Avenir (from the French for “future”) is a 2016 model for the Buick line of sedans manufactured by General Motors.  Interpreting the traditional Buick body styling cues in new ways, the Avenir sports a more dynamic, youthful look. It introduces a new “face” for the brand – a new grille with a large opening accented by the return of Buick’s red, silver and blue tri-shield insignia.

The Avenir is bigger than Buick’s largest current car, the LaCrosse. Its interior features a flowing, sculptural design with surfaces inspired by nature and sea waves receding on a beach. A 12-inch touch-screen infotainment systemincorporates  device-integration technologies that allows the driver to perform a variety of tasks associated with driving as well as their daily life.

The Avenir is powered by a next-generation V-6 gains cylinder de-activation and stop/start technology. It also features selectable suspension settings, 9-speed automatic transmission and a system that General Motors has referred to as a dual clutch all wheel drive system.
