thirst watch

The thirst watch is a bio-watch that is capable of measuring a person's skin moisture content and reminding him/her to take a drink when the person's hydration level goes below a specified rang. A thirst watch has a special water sensor built into its back that can be programmed to automatically measure the skin's moisture levels and then send out an alarm to warn the user when a hydration deficiency occurs.

A balanced level of hydration is a key requirement for maintaining a healthy life. Water is constantly lost from the body due to normal metabolism and other factors such as diet, environmental conditions, and activity levels. A healthy level of hydration is regulated to be within about 0.2% of the body weight over 24 hours. Water deficits must be compensated by adequate drinking to re-establish the balance. Unfortunately, most people often to forget about taking a drink as they engage in their daily activities. Inadequate drinking is the leading cause for many common health issues.

The thirst watch is an innovation that has the potential to create lasting impacts on the quality of life. The term "thirst watch" is a perfect pun as it's both the name of a generic watch and the action to monitor.
