Resurrection is a miraculous revivification of a dead body. In the Old Testament there are a number of such resurrections of recently departed individuals; in the New Testament, Jesus Christ resurrects a four day dead Lazarus and later arises himself after being sealed in a tomb for three days. Later on, apostles raised the dead themselves, with similar stories being attributed to different saints.
