Someone who adheres to the practise of veganism and thus abstains from using any product that of animal origin. This includes food (a vegan will not eat meat, fish, eggs or dairy products, for example) but also involves other produce, such as textiles and clothing, where, for example, leather will not be worn.

There are many reasons behind being a vegan. Ethics (concerns for animals and the environment) and health are common examples.
