Muhraka

Muhraka is a carmel monastery or carmel chapel in Israel, situated at north-east of Mount Carmel, on the top of it, near Yokneam and Druze village Daliyae al Carmel. Muhraka was built in 1868. Muhraka is an Arabic name which means Monastery at the burnt offering or Place of Fire. This was a battle field where seer Eliyau fighted Baal flamens. Seer Eliyau won the battle as he was blessed with the fire sent to him down by the Lord. From this point one can enjoy an unusually beautiful view of Israel valley and Yokneam.
