João Alves de Assis Silva (born 20 March 1987), commonly referred to as Jô, is a Brazilian footballer who plays for Atlético Mineiro as a striker.

He has previously played for Corinthians, CSKA Moscow, Manchester City, Everton, Galatasaray and Internacional. Jô made his full international debut for Brazil in 2007, and was in the squads which took bronze at the 2008 Olympics and won the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup.

In the opening match on 15 June 2013, he scored his first international goal in a 3–0 victory over Japan. He then scored his second goal for Brazil against Mexico on 19 June 2013, four days after scoring his first goal. On the 7 September 2013, he scored his third and fourth goals for Brazil in a friendly match against Australia. Jo was selected in the Brazilian squad for the 2014 World Cup.
