dolomite rock
Sedimentary rock containing more than 50% by weight of the mineral dolomite (CaMg(CO3)2). The term dolostone is used synonymously. A range of the Alps in northeastern Italy is named the Dolomites because it is composed predominantly of dolomite rock.
