A professional who tends battery of machines that make scoop (slider-fastener chain part) impressions on roll of wire. Respnsibilities include:

• Mounts roll of wire on spindle, threads wire end through machine and around spindle, and starts machine.
• Examines processed wire with microscope and micrometer to verify that impressions are aligned and pitched to specifications.
• Notifies supervisor of machine malfunctioning.
• Splices together ends of wire when breaks occur.
