Big Nate Island is the eighth island on Poptropica. This island is based on cartoonist Lincoln Peirce's comic strip Big Nate. The player's mission is to find a long-lost time capsule containing a large pearl which, if found, can save the school from demolition with the money from selling the pearl. The player will need help from Nate and his friends to complete the quest. Unlike other islands, Big Nate Island is drawn in the style of the comic strip by Peirce. The island was released in February 2009.
